COMMITTEE MEMBERS

A myriad of personalities, nationalities, and backgrounds comprise the all-woman Palm Association Committee. Although some members have moved on since the association’s inception six years ago, happily we still have many of the founding members who have helped maintain the original ethos of the association. One thing that has remained consistent over the years, and of which we are proud, is that all members, despite our nationality, have come to think of Bahrain as “home” - a place in which we feel very fortunate to raise our families.

Each committee member brings to the “table” her own unique skills and experiential repertoire which has provided us with the necessary tools and insight into projects related to: management, journalism, education, and of course, family.

Two of our founding members who are also Bahraini, provide us with the community contacts critical to carry out the majority of our projects. Their Arabic language and innate insight into Bahraini culture has also provided us with the impetus and knowledge necessary to develop projects that are reflective and in keeping with the needs of our target community.

Furthermore, having two teachers on the committee who combined, have 40 years teaching experience, has provided the knowledge and experience to develop our new Student Sponsorship Programme about which we are very excited to expand in 2008.

Despite our diverse characters and experiences, our collective enthusiasm and commitment to make a difference has created a shared passion which has become the heart and soul of the Palm Association.
